Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas is Professor of Global Management and director of the Clausen Center for International Business and Policy at UC Berkeley. He is also a CEPR Research Fellow. He was founding editor-in-chief of the IMF Economic Review (2009-2016), member of the French Council of Economic Advisors (2012-2013), managing editor of the Journal of International Economics (2016-2019), co-editor of the American Economic Review (2019-2022) and director of the International Finance and Macroeconomics program at the NBER (2017-2022). His research focuses on international finance, financial crises and the international monetary system. He is currently Chief Economist at the International Monetary Fund.
