Insurance Challenges from a degrading Climate and Nature

jointly organised by the AXA Research Fund and CEPR

11th - 12th September 2024

Sciences Po - Saint-Thomas

CEPR, in collaboration with AXA Research Fund, are pleased to announce the first Climate Change and the Environment Conference, which will take place on 11-12 September 2024 in Paris.

AXA-CEPR Policy Panels will take place on the afternoon of Day 1 (11 September 2024) of the Conference. Two panels composed of academics, policymakers and private sector practitioners will discuss 1) (Un)insurability and climate risk and 2) The role of climate finance in transitioning to a sustainable economy. The afternoon is organised in collaboration with AXA Research Fund.

AXA-CEPR Policy Panels are embedded in the two-day academic programme of the first conference of the newly established CEPR Climate Change and the EnvironmentProgramme. The academic-led sessions will take place in the morning of Day 1 (Frontiers in Climate Finance) and Day 2 (How to accelerate the Energy Transition and Adaptation and Resilience).*

The newly established CEPR Climate Change and the Environment programme, led by Mar Reguant (IAE-CSIC, Northwestern University & CEPR) and Patrick Bolton (Columbia University, Imperial College London & CEPR), aims to bring together a diverse community of economists working on pressing issues concerning energy, climate change, biodiversity, air and water pollution, and other critical environmental and natural resource issues. The goal is to provide a productive environment for researchers to develop their research agendas from the perspective of their core fields and create deeper synergies and linkages between the research groups, given the systemic nature of these challenges. The first conference will bring together the members of the programme area as well as other experts on these topics.

*Please note that this event is by invitation only. If you are interested in attending, please reach you to Jemila Benchikh, Events Officer at CEPR at [email protected]
