Ana Balsa

Ana Balsa is a Professor at the Department of Economics of Universidad de Montevideo and holds a PhD from Boston University. She is co-editor at the Journal of Health Economics, member of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) Executive Committee, founder and co-organizer of the LACEA Health Economics Network, and member of the Board of Directors of the Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics (RIDGE). Her areas of academic interest include the Economics of Human Capital, Health Economics, the Economics of Early Childhood and the Economics of Education. She has conducted research on the implications of social interactions on behavior and human capital development and on the economic impact of programs and policies on health, and on cognitive and non-cognitive development.
